System Engineer Software Development – Specialty Lab Solutions (f/m/d)

Choose the best place for your work: In consultation with your manager, you can work mobile (within Germany) up to an average volume of 60 % of the respective working hours. Mobile working from abroad is possible for up to 30 days a year under certain conditions and in selected countries. This position is full‑time (37.5 h/week) or part‑time with a minimum of 30 h/week.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and support the further development of our in‑vitro diagnostic systems.
  • Implement customer requirements for our systems and examine existing functionalities in detail.
  • Perform development‑supporting preliminary tests, occasionally using development tools.
  • Act as the link between hardware and software integration and be responsible for adapting assay operability on the device.
  • Assess and resolve customer complaints.
  • Provide independent guidance to our development teams.
  • Act as a competent point of contact and actively drive the further development of our products in collaboration with Product Management.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Successfully completed a bachelor’s degree in a scientific or technical field (computer science) and gained initial professional experience in a technical area, preferably in medical technology.
  • Initial experience in software development projects, ideally as a software developer or systems engineer in agile project organisations with international, distributed teams.
  • Vocational training in a technical field (e.g., IT specialist, mathematical‑technical software developer, or technical assistant for computer science) combined with additional qualifications and many years of professional experience in this area is also welcomed.
  • Solid expertise in collaborative coordination with adjacent departments, customers, suppliers, and technical partners, and successfully managed complex communication processes.
  • Strong experience in debugging, troubleshooting, or log file analysis and proficiency with suitable tools to efficiently identify and resolve issues.
  • Experience in the Siemens Healthineers environment and familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements is desirable.
  • Strong affinity for technologies (C#, .NET Core/6+) and particularly AI‑supported tools and ways of working.
